Ahoy there! The helical seas we know of as the great spiral await all those who dare to sail it, as was announced a mere few days ago by KingsIsle Entertainment. Yes m’ hearties, soon you’ll get the chance to be a landlubber no more in this entire new game based in the same ever-expanding universe as Wizard101.
Pirate101 is sure to be packed with adventure, mystery and a whole lotta treasure as you sail your very own customizable Pirate Ship through the ‘Skyways’, discovering worlds new and old, and even making a few new crewmates too - all without a vitamin C deficient swashbuckler in sight.

Though, there will be swashbucklers mind, along with 4 other classes; witchdoctor, privateer, musketeer and buccaneer, each with their own strengths, weaknesses and special abilities. Whether you’re a sword slinging swashbucker or a whimsically weird witchdoctor, you’ll can venture forth with your friends and companions to defeat the dastardly Armarda. You’ll fit right in.
One of the most significant features of Pirate101 is it’s unique tactical combat system, requiring strategy, skill and a bunch of crewmates to help you out, YOU decide how to best use your characters and companions to defeat enemies, protect allies or something else amongst a whole host of possible objectives, but most importantly outwit your opponents so that you bring home the treasure.

You can befriend new companions throughout your adventures, assign them to your crew, train and promote them or even make them your very own trusty sidekick. As you and your companions advance, they’ll learn new skills and abilities to give you the upperhand in battle.
What would a pirate be without a ship? A landlubber no less! This is why in Pirate101 you sail through the ‘Skyways’ dueling creatures and monsters, or even other ships in ship to ship combat! You can earn higher levels of ship, and customize it all down to the very anchor! We’re thinking that poop-deck should be purple.. no… maybe magenta.
We don’t know all the details just yet, since the game is currently in Alpha Testing (meaning it’s very very early in development!) but you can sign up for the closed Beta drawing at Pirate101.com for a chance of being one of the very first to test it out, and help stomp out those bugs before launch later this year!
It’s going to be fantARRRstic!
